Meissen Porcelain Jug.

This charming little jug bears the mark of Meïssen ground on the reverse, it was white porcelain made in Meïssen but sold (before 1850) to be decorated by decorators not belonging to the factory. It is painted on the body on each side of a bouquet of purple flowers on a white background, under the handle, at the level of the collar and on the front are two or three flowers of the same color. The branch-shaped handle, the pedestal, the collar and the beak are enhanced with gold. This jug must have had a small lid, there is a crack starting from the neck above the handle and a very slight shine on the spout. Height 17cm.
