Gustave Astoy : "back Nude"
Gustave Astoy (XIX / XXth) “Back nude”, oil on canvas 73 X 60 cm, mounted in a Louis XV style frame with gray and gold patina (small accidents) 92 X 73 cm. Circa 1920. Although born in Madrid, the Artist spent most of his career in Paris, where he exhibited between the wars at the Salon d'Automne and at the Tuileries. Painter of women, he adored the representations of plump young women whose infinite nuances of skin he captured playing in chiaroscuro emphasizing them.
