French School After 1795 : "rare Legitimist Engraving"

French school after 1795: "Rare anonymous legitimist engraving", burin on laid paper 20 X 13.5 cm line, 25.7 X 17.8 cm fulling, 28, X 18.5 cm per sheet, presented in a sober molded frame in blackened wood 32 X 24 cm with a movable ring for hanging. Interleaved soiling and light foxing on the paper.
You can see my reflection in the glass, it is not a halo !
Titled "To Immortality", it presents the profiles of Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVII in profile to the right in a medallion hanging from a pyramid, below a console bearing an urn covered with a veil and surrounded by flowers surmounting the epitaph: "Virtue, Graces, Childhood,
All perished by a new crime,
With tearful eyes, timid hope
Offers them here this modest tomb".
Anonymous for obvious security reasons, it is nevertheless attributed to Augustin de Saint-Aubin.
