Italy, early 19th century: "Tondo frame in marquetry", wood of different species veneered on a solid wood core surrounded by an ingot mold, diameter 51 cm, view 33 cm, rebate 35 cm.
This elegant frame was probably originally a pedestal table top which certainly set a marble or porphyry.
