Brass Colander Late 18th Century
Brass strainer from the late 18th century. Hemispherical tank with rolled edge (some accidents of use). Concentric drilling, two larger holes should be noted. (indicated by arrows on detail photo). Turned walnut wood handle fixed on a wrought iron tang fixed by riveting to the tank. (old wood splits, see photo). Wrought iron suspension ring at the end of the handle. Tinning still very present in the tank. despite the reported accidents, the whole remains solid. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information. Note: domestic collector's item.
