LION HEAD CANNON MOUTHPIECE European work late 17th - early 18th century Gilded brass Long. : 7; Diam. : 3 cm Cylindrical brass piece depicting a lion's head functioning as a ring. It was placed on the distal part of the barrel, thus serving as a garnish. If the front part of the mouth of the animal is straight, the mane and the beginning of the back of the feline are cut irregularly according to the movements of its dress.
