A semi-circular openwork brass disc featuring two scales ranging from zero to one hundred and eighty degrees, as well as two sighting pins.
Decor engraved with foliage scrolls and flowers.
The compass face is engraved with a four-pointed compass rose, plus four additional points, and a fleur-de-lis.
The directions are also engraved in full.
Blued needle.
The rim is engraved with graduations from zero to three hundred and sixty degrees.
A rotating arm is fixed to the main plate; it is fitted with two sighting pins. Engraved in the same style.
The plate is fixed to a ball joint mounted on its support tube with a brass wing screw.
Marked ‘Dubois aux Génies Paris’.
