Cast brass mountings.
Ovoid pommel surmounted by a dome serving as a rivet head.
Handle with twenty-six flutes.
Straight crossguard, ring-shaped quillons, hallmarks.
Double-edged blade, carp-tongue shape; triangular flat at the heel, central ridge, hallmarks, marked ‘Manuf Rle de Chatellerault’ on one side and dated ‘9 November 1846’ on the other.
Leather scabbard, chape marked ‘1055’ and brass ferrule, hallmarks.
