Pair Of Large Transition Louis XVI' Directoire
Description :
Chiseled and gilded bronze, porcelain.
These rare vases are modeled after the ornamental vases of the Louis XVI period. The square base, with its grooved reserve, supports a richly decorated foot adorned with a frieze of leaves and garlands. The body is made of blue porcelain, with its molded, raised, and gilded rings (which I do not have), but the exceptional quality of the bronze and the blue glaze justify an attribution to Sèvres.
The handles are two intertwined serpents holding garlands of flowers in their mouths. The neck is decorated with a laurel frieze. We are in the realm of the elegant and meticulously detailed quality revealed by the perfect chasing of the 18th century.
The vase's fixing the vase body is quatrefoil, a typical feature of the Ancien Régime.
If you wish to receive a video of this object in order to better "understand" it, or detailed photos, do not hesitate to ask us.
