A charming pair of Louis XVI-style bronze cassolettes,finely chased and gilded, resting on circular white marble bases.Made during the 19thcentury, they elegantly exemplify the neoclassical style then in vogue,inspired by decorative models from the late 18thcentury.Each cassolette features an ovoid-shaped covered vasein white marble, accentuated by a rich gilded bronze mount decorated withbeaded friezes, godrons, and foliage motifs. The handles, formed of garlandsof laurel leaves suspended between two finely carved ram’s heads,constitute a remarkable homage to the Louis XVI ornamental repertoire.The vase is supported by three richly chiseled gilded bronze tripod legsrichly chased gilded bronze, ending in zoomorphic feet evoking the legsof a ram.
