Beautiful pair of decorative Limoges porcelain dishes entirely hand painted. The decor represents two beautiful countryside landscapes animated under the snow. One depicts a peasant woman returning from the woods, carrying a bundle of wood and a knife on her belt on her back. The other shows a peasant smoking a pipe, ax on his shoulder, leaving to split wood. The two figures are wearing wooden shoes. Beautiful scenes of country life in the 19th century. Our two dishes are square, the four angles imitate a fold of paper and are gilded, a gold thread enhances all the circumference. They are not signed, this being frequent in the XIXth century.
