Julien "Jeune homme au bonnet" lithograph 33 X 25 cm mounted in a beautiful rosewood frame with clear threads 41 X 33 cm.
Wetness and foxing, circa 1850/60. Published by the Imprimerie Lemercier in Paris, this series of plates was intended to serve as models for novice designers, which explains why they can be found in various versions in pencil, charcoal or feather in many flea markets. Here, this young black man with the haughty attitude was perhaps a sailor.
