French School, Circa 1930 : “the Port Of Ciboure As Seen From The Roofs”
FrenchSchool, circa 1930 : “The Port of Ciboure from the Rooftops,”oil on canvas, 73 × 54 cm, mounted in a modern rust-colored frame, 87 × 68 cm.
The choice of a bird’s-eye view from the rooftops in the foreground effectively showcases the harbor with its trawl boats in their characteristic blue and its bridges, which have since disappeared.
The Impressionist style, reminiscent of Georges Masson and Louis Floutier, is that of amaster who, unfortunately, did not sign the work.
