MS Benoist (19th/20th century): "Paris at night 1910", mixed technique on paper (pastel and gouache enhanced with gum arabic) mounted on slightly irregular cardboard 27.5 X 41 cm, mounted with museum glass and enhancements in a Delft frame with canvas marie-louise 49 X 62 cm. This theme dear to artists such as Galien-Laloue or Cortès is treated here by an unlisted painter who I suspect may be female, the second initial of the first name can be read as "J" or "L". Cyclists, hackney carriages and onlookers share the boulevards whose illuminations are reflected on the wet cobblestones.
