The strap of woven gold with stylized patterns arranged alternately and decorated at the ends with oval medallion surrounding with blue enameled gold and a hinged openwork cover to protect a miniature on ivory. The cover features a monogram. The miniature on ivory depicting a young man in a suit and black bow and white shirt. The miniature is signed BOST. The back of the miniature consists of a braid of hair. Melanie Bost: active between 1837 and 1852 A pupil of Aubry, she exhibited at the salon between 1837 and 1852. She was born Lebel, she married Bost. She lived at 12 rue pot-au-fer in Saint Sulpice in 1841 and 1852 Some small wears in the enamel.
