High candy jar, used in Catholic schools to reward wise children, and to deprive the little devils .... Jar formerly based on a lid of tin, it is molded glass, (a specialty of Legras glassmaker, circa 1900), polychrome cold painted.
St Antoine de Padoue holds the Child in his arms. On the back, the formerly embossed brand of John Tavernier candy, at the time 1 rue du cloître Saint Merry, Paris.
Dimensions: 42 cm x 11cm.
Good condition, some wear and tear, original polychrome fairly fresh, and easy to touch up.
