Cameo With 4 Layers Of A Bacchante, XIXth Century

Magnificent 4-layer agate cameo representing a bacchante and dating from the 19th century. this cameo is a superb glyptic work of great finesse.
it is carved in 4 layers of agate:
the background is a beautiful dark pink color, on which stands out the face of the bacchante sculpted with extreme finesse in a layer of white agate.
the third thick layer is brown in color and represents vine leaves placed on the bacchante's hair.
the 4th layer in final thickness is sculpted in white agate and represents a fine bunch of grapes placed on the vine leaves.
it is a magnificent work of delicacy and precision in the sculpture of this very elaborate cameo.
probably the work of a master of glyptics to make such a work but unfortunately not signed. the result is charming and of high quality.
a very beautiful cameo mounted in a 14 carat gold brooch, which can form a pendant, and which recalls the mounts in the Etruscan taste developed by houses such as Castellani in the 19th century, but here in all sobriety.
the cameo measures, 2.1 cm by 2.9 cm high and 2.9 cm by 3.9 cm high with the mount, 5.1 cm with the bail.
probably an Italian work.
the streaks that you see in the background are not cracks but the veins of agate.
excellent condition maybe a tiny scratch to report at the base of the neck of the bacchante bottom right in the white agate, but very invisible, look at the photos thank you.
