Primer Cone
We are offering for sale a truly unique item: an antique primer powder flask or primer horn from the Ottoman Empire, dating from the 19th century.
This object was known as a “natruska.” It was used to hold extremely fine black powder, intended to fill the pan of firearms, particularly flintlock firearms.
The body of the object is made of horn, as is the back. The filling chamber is made of bone or ivory.
The most ornate parts are made of nielloed silver and accented with gold.
