DECORATIVE ARTS
In perfect condition, and fortunately preserved as a pair
Dimensions:
Square base,
12 cm × 12 cm (length and width)
× 9.5 cm height
These two bowls are characteristic of traditional Kashmiri goldsmithing and copperwork, drawing on the aesthetic of Persian carpet art, harmoniously blending rich, radiant, and symmetrical plant and floral design, as well as the contrast between the vivid gilding and the blue hues, ranging from turquoise to lapis lazuli.
The square-shaped bases support bowls with rounded, floral forms, which are in turn topped by an openwork rim forming a square floral frieze, arranged in a diamond pattern relative to the bases.
