18th-century Statue Of A Bishop
Large statue of a bishop carved from walnut, depicted standing and wearing an episcopal miter adorned with relief carvings. His finely crafted face displays a particularly well-rendered expression.
He is dressed in a liturgical cope with ample, vertical folds, fastened with a floral ornament. In his left hand, he holds a pastoral crozier with a scroll motif, while his right hand forms a gesture of blessing.
Beautiful antique patina with traces of polychromy. The crozier is a later addition, and the fingers of the right hand have been restored. Signs of age, small chips, and cracks.
