18th-century Painting Of The Three Wise Men From The Middle Ages
An intriguing oil-on-canvas painting mounted on a wooden panel.
The work depicts three figures deliberately distinguished by their clothing and attributes, corresponding to the Three Wise Men (Balthazar, Melchior, and Gaspar) and also symbolizing the three continents known in the Middle Ages (Europe, Asia, and Africa).
A folkloric interpretation without religious connotations.
An anonymous work dating from around the 18th century.
In generally good condition, though some wear and crazing are present.
Dimensions: 90/60 cm
