Pair Of Cups—porcelain—meissen—germany—19th Century
MEISSEN – Pair of openwork white porcelain bowls, 19th century
An elegant pair of pedestaled bowls in glazed white porcelain from the Meissen manufactory, richly adorned with an openwork design of flowers and foliage. The scalloped bowls rest on sculpted bases depicting women in the classical style, embellished with volutes and relief ornamentation. The pedestals are decorated with sculpted garlands and finely molded circular bases.
The finesse of the openwork, the delicacy of the carvings, and the luminosity of the glaze lend this pair a particularly refined character, attesting to the craftsmanship of the Meissen manufactory.
