"Hot Water Bottle Lamp - Gilded Bronze - France - 18th Century "
Louis XVI period hot water bottle lamp, in finely chiseled gilt bronze and painted sheet metal. It rests on a flared circular base decorated with foliage, and has three light arms decorated with female heads with antique hairstyles, a symbol of the neoclassical taste in vogue in the 18th century. The whole is topped with a green sheet metal lampshade, adjustable in height using a key and finished with a grip ring in the shape of a leafy crown. The object has been electrified while retaining its authenticity and original spirit. Parisian work, circa 1780. Very good condition, beautiful original gilding.
