"Sculpture - Wood - Saint Rita - Europe - 19th Century "
Sculpture representing Saint Rita, made of polychrome wood and dressed in a rich monastic costume of embroidered black velvet, adorned with a golden braid at the bottom of the dress. The saint is depicted in a pious posture, holding a rosary, symbols of her deep faith and devotion. Her painted face, with a gaze marked by gentleness and meditation, is covered with a white fabric veil, faithful to traditional iconography. The articulated arms allow for slight variation in the pose. This sculpture, probably of Italian or Spanish origin, dates from the second half of the 19th century. Good condition: damaged fingers
