Two-tray Light-wooded Serving Table, Directoire Period
A charming two-tiered serving table made of light-colored wood, likely elm, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, from the Directoire period.
Square in shape, it features an upper top that extends slightly beyond a scalloped band. It rests on four slender, turned legs accented with thin rings, joined by a low crossbar edged with a rim.
The wood’s expressive grain and its warm patina with blond and honey tones lend great character to this piece with its understated lines.
Both practical and decorative, this sideboard can serve as a side table, end table, or small display piece in both classic and contemporary interiors.
In good overall condition, with signs of wear from age. Note: a wood patch on the top surface.
