Christofle Crystal Vase Featuring Two Carp (fish), Height 33 Cm, In Excellent Condition
Christofle "Two Carp" vase, crystal, height 33 cm. A superb and substantial zoomorphic vase—known as the "Two Fish" or "Facing Carp" model—originally designed by Émile Reiber in 1874 for the firm of Christofle.
The artist drew inspiration from a Japanese bronze piece from the Edo period, held in the collection of the Cernuschi Museum. This theme aligns perfectly with the *Japonisme* movement, which was in vogue during the 19th century.
This version, crafted in frosted and satin-finished crystal, was produced by the Cristallerie Royale de Champagne in Bayel.
The piece is in exceptional condition: it still bears its original "Christofle" label as well as a "handmade crystal" label. It is signed "Christofle" on the underside of the base.
It is in perfect condition.
Height: 33 cm; Width: 22 cm; Depth at the base: 11.5 cm.
