Rare Art Deco Limoges Tête-à-tête Set With Silver-effect Metal And Bakelite-style Decoration.
Artist: Julien Balleroy
A rare Art Deco *tête-à-tête* set in Limoges porcelain, featuring silver-plated metal and Bakelite accents.
It was decorated by Julien Balleroy & Cie, a firm that operated a workshop in Limoges from 1914 to 1932 (before changing its name).
A third cup is included (useful as a spare, given the rarity of the model).
The *trompe-l'œil* effect is remarkable; at first glance, it looks like solid silver-plated metal. The finish is highly lustrous.
The set is in excellent condition (no breaks or cracks). There is very slight wear on the sugar bowl (on a few corners, two edges, and some interior spots), though this is virtually invisible against the brilliant finish of the rest of the set.
Dimensions:
Cup (diameter 5 cm, height 9.7 cm);
Saucer (side 4.2 cm);
Creamer (10 cm x 16 cm, height 11 cm);
Sugar bowl (12 cm x 18 cm, height 15 cm).
