Louis XV Chest Of Drawers Made Of Solid Walnut, 18th Century
Louis XV chest of drawers in solid walnut, 18th century
Louis XV-era chest of drawers in solid walnut, with three drawers featuring scalloped fronts adorned with floral-inspired carved decoration. Each side consists of two original panels.
The cabinetmaker’s craftsmanship is evident in the flowing lines of the drawers, the delicacy of the carvings, and the balanced proportions. The plant motifs follow the curves of the front and highlight the nuances of the walnut.
The original bronze handles, finely hand-chiseled, feature human heads. The richness of their details attests to the care taken in the bronze work. Their design complements the wood carvings, forming a harmonious and cohesive whole in which the two crafts enhance one another.
This chest of drawers retains its original patina and locks. It is offered without a key and is in very good condition.
