Oval Limoges Porcelain Serving Platter, Marked “elite / L / France”
Large oval Limoges porcelain serving dish, marked “ELITE / L / FRANCE” on the reverse, circa 1900–1915.
Its dynamic shape is accentuated by rich, raised gilding around the entire rim. The dish features a floral design painted in shades of yellow, mauve, and green, accompanied by an interlaced monogram that can be read as PB or BP. The composition and quality of the gilding give this piece a remarkable presence.
Measuring 51.5 cm in length, this platter is a generously sized piece for serving. It appears to have been carefully preserved and is in very fine visible condition. The photographs of the reverse side and details allow one to appreciate the mark, the decoration, and the gilding.
