Votive Panel, Oceanic Art, Tribal Art, Primitive Art, Oceania, Sculpture, 133 Cm
Large votive panel made of hard wood from a ceremonial house in the Blackwater region of Papua New Guinea. These panels, placed in the men’s house, feature designs that are abstract representations of ancestors and/or natural elements (totemic animals and plants, the moon, the sun, stars, etc.). They are true works of art, whose symbols constitute a language in their own right. Some used lacks on the left side. The panel is sold with a stand. Approx. 133 x 33 cm / €650, including the stand and shipping within Europe.
