19th-century Brooch With Foliage, Gold And Silver Daisies, Pearls, And Diamonds
This charming brooch features two daisies with their foliage arranged in a harmonious composition with a very natural flow.
Two button pearls in the center of the flowers and 66 rose-cut diamonds are openwork-set in silver on the leaves and petals.
The back is made of a thin gold plate for rigidity (not tested).
The brooch features a tube hinge mechanism and a safety clasp, both fully functional.
Features a female threaded hole for screwing in a decorative hairpin.
Pin made of gold-plated metal alloy.
Closure tested as 14-karat gold using a touchstone. A charming example of sentimental jewelry that draws on the symbolism of the language of flowers!
The daisy:
Loyal love and fidelity: It is associated with the famous game “I love you a little, a lot...” played by plucking off its petals.
Esteem and trust: Giving a daisy expresses feelings of pure affection, modesty, and kindness.
New beginnings: It is also used to celebrate a birth or a new chapter in life.
PERFECT CONDITION, 19th century, circa 1890.
