Large 18th-century Fireplace – Regency Style, Made Of Oak

A grand and elegant 18th-century fireplace, influenced by theRegency style, crafted from high-quality solid oak.

The mantelpiece features a superbly curved band with a triplecrossbow-shaped cutout.
It is adorned in the center with a curved cartouche featuring a projecting molding,carved with a stylized shell (or palmette) motif in bas-relief.
On either side, the upper corners aredecorated with small flowers or rosettes carved from solid wood.
The wide, sturdy side legs feature a slightlycurved console profile.
They are enlivened by large molded panels, the upper portion of whichtakes the shape of a gendarme’s hat, characteristic of thedecorative style of the period.
The upper oak tabletop features a softened molding (corbin’s beak),faithfully following the recesses of the structure.
The piece boastsa superb, warm natural patina that highlights thetight, authentic grain of the oak.
