Center Table Or Louis XIII Desk In Solid Walnut – 18th Century

Made of solid walnut in the Louis XIII style and craftedin the 18th century.
This piece stands out for the exceptional quality of itscabinetmaking, particularly its remarkable turned wooden base with doubletwists (particularly dynamic and pronounced twisted columns).
The four sturdy legs are connected by an H-shaped crossbar, itselfrichly carved with twisted motifs and topped by two original finials withbeautifully turned details.
The walnut tabletop features magnificent natural grain with a superbperiod patina, accentuated by a wide border around the edge.
On the front, the table features a large, deep belt-style drawer, fittedwith ring pulls and acentral lock slot.
The original wrought-iron lock and itsantique iron key are present but non-functional (mechanism needs servicing).The piece is sound, stable, and exceptionally sturdy. Superb originalpatina, waxed and polished.
