Scene From A Farmyard – 19th-century Oil On Canvas.
A charming oil-on-canvas painting depicting a lively farmyard scene with hens and roosters of various plumage, moving about at the foot of a farm building in a rural landscape.
The composition stands out for its lively and expressive brushwork, particularly in the depiction of the poultry, whose plumage is rendered with finesse and light impasto.
In the background, a wooded landscape with soft, slightly misty tones adds depth and atmosphere to the scene.
The harmonious color palette, blending golden ochres, browns, nuanced greens, and delicate pinkish tones, contributes to the charm of this animal painting characteristic of the second half of the 19th century.
Unsigned oil on canvas, preserved on its original canvas and stretcher.
The painting is in good overall condition, with one or two small, old, and discreet restorations. The colors are fresh and luminous, and the varnish is clean.
Presented in its original 19th-century frame made of wood and gilded stucco with a patina, richly adorned with foliage motifs. The frame shows some old restorations, with stucco decorations that have been roughly touched up but still retain a beautiful decorative appearance.
A charming and particularly decorative ensemble, reflecting the 19th-century taste for rural and animal scenes.
