Antique Russian-style Silver Desk Notebook By Piotr Milioukov, Russia.

Rare cabinet piece—a desk notepad with a silver lid, mounted on a massive green onyx base, crafted in the old Russian style by Pyotr Miliukov’s Moscow workshop. The lid is adorned with a repoussé scene depicting a majestic bogatyr (epic hero) riding through a dense forest. The composition is enriched with inlays of semi-precious stones from the Urals, set into the helmet, armor, foliage, and decorative inscription.

The lower part features an archaic inscription in Slavic characters:
“The Bogatyr rides above the towering forest,”
emphasizing the allegorical grandeur of the hero, for whom the forest reaches only to his chest.

The interior contains a complete block of antique leaves with gilded edges. The object is fully functional and constitutes a remarkable example of Russian decorative art.
