Beautiful "Haute Epoque" apothecary mortar made of bronze/copper. French or italian craftsmanship dating from the Renaissance, late 16th century.
An elegant design featuring four alternating buttresses and four spandrels decorated with Italian-style balusters.
This mortar is crafted from a very fine bronze/copper alloy and has retained its superb antique patina, a deep brown color, as well as its original hanging ring.
In very good condition, with no cracks; it produces a perfectly clear sound.
