Solid Brass Curule Stool With A Gilded Finish, In The Style Of Maison Jansen, From The 1970s–80s.

Artist: Attribué à La Maison Jansen

A very elegant curule stool made of solid gilded brass, dating from the 1970s–1980s, in the style of the neoclassical designs by the famous Maison Jansen, in the Hollywood Regency spirit.

This beautiful stool features a frame made entirely of brass, with a graceful tubular base featuring arched legs that cross in an X-shape, joined at the center by an elegant diamond-shaped fastener.

The seat, made of a curved sheet of brass, has a particularly harmonious curved shape, reminiscent of the curule chairs of antiquity, which were elegantly reinterpreted in the 1970s.

The edges of the seat are accented by cylindrical brass elements, adorned with small round-headed fasteners, lending a meticulous finish to the overall design.

With its high-quality craftsmanship, elegant proportions, and neoclassical aesthetic, this stool evokes the creations of the great Parisian design houses of that era—notably Jansen, Baguès, and Charles—though no specific attribution can be established.

Its beautiful golden color, architectural lines, and sculptural base make it a piece of furniture that is as decorative as it is functional, suitable for use as an occasional chair or as a feature in an entryway, living room, or bedroom.

It will fit just as well into a classic interior as it will into a contemporary decor.
