Gunbai Uchiwa, War Fan, Samurai, Sengoku, Daimyo, Sun, Moon
A very beautiful command fan made of wood lacquered in red, gold, and silver to represent the sun and the moon. There are cracks in the lacquer and some missing pieces on the handle and the rim, which is normal for an object from the Momoyama and early Edo periods. The red lacquer has a very beautiful patina. At the bottom of the handle is a silver hatome shaped like an inome.
