Important Carved And Giltwood Prie-dieu With Putto – H. 82 Cm

Remarkable prie-dieu in carved and giltwood, distinguished by its rich sculptural decoration.

The composition is dominated by a fully carved putto, depicted standing with raised arms and supporting the upper section of the prie-dieu.

The shaped base and upper section are richly decorated with scrolls, foliage, floral motifs and carved ornamental elements, enhanced by gilding.

The piece retains a beautiful antique patina, with wear, craquelure and minor losses to the gilding consistent with its age, adding character and authenticity.

The unusual construction, sculptural presence of the putto and richness of the decoration make this prie-dieu an attractive decorative piece, particularly suitable for a historic residence, private chapel or refined interior.
