The shaft consists of a pair of vestal virgins draped in the classical style, crafted from brown-patinated bronze. The ensemble rests on truncated, fluted white marble columns, embellished with refined decorative elements in chiseled and gilded bronze: a beaded band, a garland of hanging flowers, and an intertwined laurel leaf motif.
