Silver-plated Brass Candlestick From The Late Louis XVI Period, Converted Into A Lamp

Silver-plated brass candlestick from the late Louis XVI period.
Circular base adorned with a double frieze of water leaves & a row of pearls; the central shaft, in a fluted baluster shape topped by a collar of water leaves, supports a flared bowl decorated with laurel leavesthat follow the fluting.
The bowl is simply adorned with a fine rowof pearls. 
Assembled as a lamp with an extension featuring afaux cardboard candle.
Shows signs of age and wear, traces of tarnish  the candlestick has been cleaned and varnished.
Electrical wiring completely redone.
Empire-style lampshade in mouse-gray cottonembellished with Toile de Jouy appliqués in the pure Louis XVI style; a chocolate-brown soutache trim high lights the edges of the lampshade.

The candlestick has been cleaned andvarnished.
