A Double-bodied Lacquered Buffet With A Glazed Top, Painted With Floral, Fruit, And Bouquet Decorations, Late 19th Century
Charming double-bodied buffet in painted wood, highlighted in red and adorned with numerous decorative elements. The lower section rests on a plinth and opens with two doors, each decorated with a beautiful design of fruit and flowering stems. The sides are also decorated, and its cream-colored top is adorned with a garland alternating flowers, strawberries, and cherries. The upper section opens with two glass doors revealing two shelves. The sides are also decorated in the same way as the lower section. The space between the two sections forms a large niche decorated with grapes, flowers, and currants. Our piece of furniture was made in the 1900s, while this lovely decorative work was carried out in the 1960s by a decorator, creating veritable works of art. Note a few minor signs of wear on the paint, two repairs around the edge of the top, and a small chip and trace of glue on the top of the right-hand column in the space between the two sections, without any impact on the overall appearance. The furniture's sturdiness and aesthetics are excellent. Dimensions: total height 214 cm, bottom height 88 cm, top height 88.5 cm, width 119 cm, depth 41 cm, height between the two shelves 37.5 cm.
