18th-century Gilded Wooden Mirror In The Berain Style
Gilded wooden mirror carved from linden wood.
Mounted on a wooden frame joined with half-lap joints.
Its frame is commonly referred to as a “Bérain-style” frame, and its mercury mirror is original.
This is clearly visible on the back, where there is a slit in the assembly of the backing boards, with oxidation corresponding to this slit.
This is an important observation confirming that the mirror has never been replaced.
