Pair Of 17th-century Walnut Armchairs
A beautiful pair of Louis XIII style armchairs in turned walnut. The armrest supports and the front legs with twisted ribs are joined by stretchers, while the rear legs are column-shaped. They are upholstered in richly decorated Cordovan leather (showing signs of age). Cordovan leather has a golden appearance, is colored, and has a embossed, raised look. There are a few minor restorations to one rear leg of one of the chairs. Overall, they are in good condition with a superb waxed patina. Mid-17th century.
