17th-century Italian Drawing. Brown Ink And Ink Wash. Menelas Wearing Patrocle, Dead.
A beautiful drawing: a man—a warrior—wearing a helmet, with a cloak billowing behind him, holds in his arms a young man who is completely helpless, kneeling with his arms hanging limply at his sides. Is this a mythological or historical scene? Menelas wearing the Patrocle body, dead.
