The inscription on the medal reads as follows: "Petrus Jeanin Reg Christ A Secr Cons Et Sac Praef," meaning: "Pierre Jeanin, secret counselor to the Most Christian King and prefect of the sacred treasury."
A reproduction of the original medal (now in the Louvre) from the 17th or early 18th century. Beautiful patina. The reverse of the medal is characteristic of the period in which it was struck.
