A beautiful portrait of Jean d'Albon de St André, 1472–1549. A late 18th-century copy of the original portrait by Corneille de Lyon, which is housed in the Louvre. This prominent figure held several important positions in the kingdom’s administration during the Renaissance. A very refined portrait, with a piercing gaze and a faint smile; a decoration is visible on his black garment. It may be the Order of St. Michael, with which he had been decorated. Blackened pine wood frame, edged with fine gilding, from the 19th century.
