Great Bronze Candleholder, Two Patinas, Dolphins & Shells, France, Restoration Period

A very beautiful candlestick, made of bronze and consisting of several screwed-together parts. A tripod base is topped with dolphins, a row of foliage, and medallions featuring scallop shells. The fluted column-shaped shaft features various stylized leaf motifs, as does the candle holder. On the underside are the three nuts securing the base, along with the inscription “BRO” repeated several times to certify the material. 
In good overall condition, with some oxidation and dust, and a tin reinforcement inside the candlestick and under the candle holder, securing it in place. This was likely added to accommodate a later electrical system. Fortunately, the candlestick has not been drilled.
French working, dating from the early 19th century, circa 1830, during the Restoration period.
