Beautiful Solid Silver Eyeglass Case, Delicate Eyeglasses, Late 19th Century
A beautiful, oblong, oval-shaped case made of solid silver. It is decorated with alternating rows of solid and striated sections, with a circle in the center. Inside, a pair of eyeglasses (lenses missing), very thin and delicate, with mother-of-pearl nose pads.
In good overall condition, with a few small, barely visible dents that prevent the clasp from closing perfectly. These are clearly visible in my detailed photos—please look at them carefully; I’m not hiding anything!
French craftsmanship, Minerva hallmark and master’s mark (unidentified), most likely dating from the late 19th century or very early 20th century.
Dimensions: 12 cm x 5.5 cm x 1 cm.
Weight: Approximately 87.5g
