An elegant pair of stained-glass panels depicting two young women, created around 1900 by the master glassmaker from the Sarthe region, Albert Echivard (1866–1939).

Each panel features an elegant woman depicted from the waist up, in a refined pose. The delicate rendering of the faces, hairstyles, and clothing attests to the care taken in the composition and the glasswork. The particularly decorative female figures are fully in keeping with the taste of the 1900s for depictions of women and the decorative arts.

Each stained-glass window bears the signature “AE 1900”, linking them to Albert Echivard.

Born in 1866 and died in 1939, Albert Echivard was a nationally renowned master glassmaker from the Sarthe region. He contributed to the revival of Le Mans stained glass, a movement that began in the 19th century and experienced a resurgence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Thanks to their high-quality craftsmanship, their subject matter, and their striking decorative presence, these two panels form a particularly interesting set from the 1900 period.
